Our Story

Since 1936, the core of LC Industries has always been manufacturing, but through the years this non-profit corporation has continued to grow and evolve into a multi-faceted entity. Today, LC Industries business capabilities range from Manufacturing and Distribution to Retail and E-Commerce. Headquartered in Durham, NC, LC Industries operates two distribution centers, four e-commerce websites, six manufacturing facilities and 35 retail stores on military bases across the United States…

Our History

LC Industries Historical Timeline - 1936 - Founded as Lions Club Industries, Inc., with a mission to provide employment opportunities, skills and training to the blind to help them cultivate a job into a rewarding career.
LC Industries Historical Timeline - 1938 - Wagner-O
LC Industries Historical Timeline - 1941 - Mattress Contract with the U.S. Navy is awarded to LC Industries via the Wagner-O’Day act, under the affiliation with National Industries for the Blind (NIB).
LC Industries Historical Timeline - 1941 - Mattress Contract with the U.S. Navy is awarded to LC Industries via the Wagner-O’Day act, under the affiliation with National Industries of the Blind (NIB).
LC Industries Historical Timeline - 1972 - Began manufacturing File Folders via the JWOD act under the affiliation with NIB.
LC Industries Historical Timeline - 1993 - Changed name to LC industries
LC Industries Historical Timeline - 1995 - Ft. Bragg experiment as a base supply center employing people who are blind is successful and more BSCs are formed nationwide (over 30 are currently operated by LC Industries)
LC Industries Historical Timeline - 2001 - Durham Distribution Center started out of the corporate headquarters to support the thriving manufacturing division and the BSCs’ operated by LC Industries)
LC Industries Historical Timeline - 2004 - Las Vegas, Nevada Distribution Center opens to better serve customers from coast to coast.
LC Industries Historical Timeline - 2005 - LC Industries begins to offer its products to even more users through their E-Commerce division.
